Because we have so many great students here we have decided to start a student of the month award.
Each month we will be selecting a student to be acknowledged for their practice.
Each student will be selected taking into account the issues they have faced to continue to practice.
Some physical, others emotional, some just from the sheer consistency and time of practice. You can be assured that each honoured are true yogis and yoginis.
As student of the month they will get free access to posture clinic, a month worth of towel
hire and drinks at teacher discounted rate, free mat hire.
Leah Steain is our student of the month for November. Although Leah has only been with us for a short time she has demonstrated a consistency in her practice. She is hard working and diligent. I know she has some old injuries but she doesnt let this stop her from moving foward. Her energy is always ligfht and bright when she attends and it is easy to have her in the class and around the school. Leah is a totally yogi in her attitude towards yoga. She has focus and determination. Grace and Peace in her work
Daz and the Bikram Darlo team
I first tried bikram yoga a few years ago. I made it to about 3 classes then gave up after my one week trial expired.
This year however I decided to face the hot room again. After years of gymnastics and dance classes I was getting to a point where I wasn't able to ignore and push through all of my old injuries..especially now that they just weren't healing at all!
I first tried to solve this problem by going to a few 'normal' yoga classes. After quickly finding myself bored and unchallenged I had a feeling that maybe Bikram yoga would offer more of a challenge as well as the precision of the yoga postures I was looking for. I was right . Since my first class back this year I've been maintaining a regular practice now finding myself injury free and probably stronger and more flexible than during any of my years as a gymnast or dancer.
I can't really say I enjoy every moment in the hot room but like all the teachers say, I've never been to a class that I've regretted!
